All week long, Madrid is hosting a once-a-year book fair at El Retiro. The event is absolutely enormous, with a main street of the park flanked — very nearly from one side of the park to the other — by small vendors of literature. I happened to stumble on one focusing entirely on economics (hosted by a Madrid-based store called Ecobooks: The Economist’s Bookstore) and much to my delight I saw almost an entire bookshelf covered by Austrian-themed books.
I have been looking for Spanish language economics books (especially ones where Spanish is the original language), and I walked away with,
- Juan Ramón Rallo, Los Errores de la Vieja Economía: a criticism of Keynes’ The General Theory;
- Jesús Huerta de Soto, La Escuela Austríaca: mostly because I bought it for a third of the price of the English version.
